Managing post-procedure urological healthcare can be challenging because complications with catheters, infections, and bleeding can occur. Waypoint Home Health Care is uniquely equipped to prevent these complications because it has its own Urology Team of Skilled Nurses dedicated specifically to caring for our urology patients. Our urology nurses are equipped with specialized urological equipment and come with decades of experience in treating and educating urology patients in the home health care setting with thousands of successful outcomes.

Treatment

  • Urinary catheter care, maintenance, cleaning, changes, removal and urine flow monitoring
  • Education on preventing UTI and other infections and monitory for signs of infection
  • Medication Management of all medications including antibiotics and medications that increase the risk of bleeding (warfarin, coumadin)
  • Voiding Trial (including bladder scanning with a portable bladder scanner) after removal of catheter to ensure bladder is emptying properly
  • Education on fluid intake and healthy diet
  • Instruction of exercises (including Kegel Exercises to strengthen muscles in pelvis)
